 Who we are:

The Goshen Clay Artists Guild was formed in 1998 when a group of local artists with varying degrees of expertise decided to work together and share studio space, ideas, and techniques. We grew steadily and in 2004 we had a new studio constructed  at 212 W. Washington St., Goshen. The guild currently has 28 members with full access to the studio.

Students who sign up for classes receive instruction on Tuesday evenings and enjoy exclusive access to the guild facility on Thursday evenings. There is some turnover in membership and class access so if you are interested, be sure to ask about our wait lists if a class is full. Members of the guild have either taken one or more classes onsite or have a college or masters level degree in ceramics.

About Our Studio

The Goshen Clay Artists Guild provides a creative space for over 25 clay artists.

We offer regular classes for beginners to advanced.

Guild members also sell pottery at a variety of locations and events throughout the year.

Several guild members participate in the Michiana pottery tour. The Fall MPT sale is September 28 & 29

Just before this, additional guild members will be selling work at the ARTS ON THE MILLRACE event on September 7,  2024. 10:30 am to 6pm

Expert Instructors

Classes are taught by Guild members with extensive knowledge of clay and teaching. Classes are fun and instructive for potters at every level. Beginners are welcome.

Four classes are held every year in our studio space. Students attend a 3-hour class on Tuesday evenings and have the option of an additional 3 hours of studio time on Thursdays.

Classes last for 12 weeks and typically begin in January, April, July, and September.

Students have the opportunity to explore a variety of clay styles including wheel work, hand building, and other special techniques.

During their class, participants will learn about clay bodies, glazing techniques, and firing.

Classes are beneficial for those who are new to clay, those who wish to get back into working with clay, and those who wish to build upon their past experience.

Classes are limited to 13 students and are intended for adults.
